Our mission is to mobilize and empower residents of Montgomery County, Maryland to act locally and nationally in defense of democracy, equity, and human rights
Who We Are
What started on January 21, 2017—when millions joined nationwide for the Women’s March in Washington, D.C. —has evolved into a dedicated community of advocates.
MoCoWoMen began as a modest Facebook group, serving as a space to connect, exchange information, and uplift one another. Through the years, that initial spark of solidarity has transformed into
more than 2,000 members.
In January 2025, the organization entered a new phase. By joining the Indivisible National movement and becoming Indivisible MoCoWoMen,
we aligned ourselves with a nationwide framework built to help local groups take smart, strategic action. This shift allows us to tap into well-tested
advocacy tools, timely guidance, and coordinated efforts.
Our membership is rich in diversity—comprising men and women, students, seniors, educators, advocates, and community leaders—united by a common dedication to democracy. Their enthusiasm and resolve propel our initiatives as we collaborate to create a more just and equitable society.
